Great Support, Impressive Stability & Low-Profile Design
We use a full nine inches of GOTS-certified organic latex foam, made with 95% or more organic material, to provide gentle yet firm support. A layer of latex helps promote proper back alignment. And GOTS-certified wool and cotton effortlessly wick away moisture, regulate temperature, and promote cool sleep all night. No Springs, Perfect Bounce
Most all-latex foam mattresses feel too bouncy. Not ours. Our organic latex dampens the responsive foam layers and reduces motion transfer. So does the GOTS-certified organic cotton that we sandwich between the latex layers. The result is an all-latex mattress with just the right level of response and bounce.
Needle Tufted by Hand
Avocado mattresses feature our distinctive, needle-tufted rosettes made from soft, white organic wool — a hallmark of quality. We pull cotton ribbons through every layer of the mattress in up to 32 locations, held in place by the rosettes. Needle-tufting is a time-honored technique dating back to the 17th century. Because of hand tufting, no chemical adhesives are used to bind the layers together, which also radically improves durability.

Heavy-Duty Handles
Our all-latex mattress is heavy, between 93-185 pounds. That’s why we stitch two vertical, upholstered handles on both side panels of the mattress. With a low-profile and snug fit, our handles won’t bunch up underneath the sheets. These reinforced handles make rotating or adjusting your latex mattress hassle-free.

We don’t use polyurethane foams, memory foams, chemical adhesives to bind our layers, flame retardants, or fiberglass. Because health, trust, and quality are our top priorities, we go overboard with redundant product testing, third-party certifications, and product transparency. GOLS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC LATEX
Our mattresses use FSC® certified (C156318) Dunlop latex because it is more eco-conscious than Talalay latex, which requires more processing. We make our GOLS-certified organic latex from co-owned farmer's societies and processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, and requires no adhesives to seam it together. It's made with equal to or more than 95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard, and processed in a GOLS-certified organic facility in India. Our standard Avocado mattress uses two seamless layers of organic latex — 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft) and a 1-inch layer (D65) in the base. On the Avocado Mattress with the optional attached Pillow-Top, we use three seamless layers of organic latex — 2 inches in the Euro-top layer (D65), 2 more inches in the comfort layer (D65), and another 1-inch layer (D65) in the base. We do not use blended or synthetic latex and the seams will not break down over time. We needle-tuft our mattresses by hand so they contain no chemical adhesives to bind the layers. To be extra thorough, our latex is even eco-INSTITUT label certified, a certification for products fulfilling the strictest requirements on pollutants and emissions following the latest state-of-the-art international research and science.
GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC WOOL
The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. It’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. At Avocado, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped GOTS-certified organic wool (1 ounce per square foot) under the organic certified cotton ticking in every mattress. GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
We use GOTS-certified organic cotton in a soft, natural color for a luxurious and premium finish. We craft the top panel with organic cotton, in a soft natural color for a luxurious and premium finish, over a generous layer of organic wool with thin non-woven backing as a natural fire barrier, per Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) accessory requirements (required to keep the organic materials from shifting during production, and to ensure the natural fibers do not clump or "work" through the cotton layers over time). No polyester fiber is used. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile is needle-tufted by hand with organic cotton yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without chemical adhesives. Reinforced edge seams are double-stitched, and four heavy-duty upholstered handles complete the package.
